I work with clients worldwide, including the UK, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, and all across the United States. No matter your location, we can do somatic healing remotely!
And it has a lot of benefits.
The primary benefit is that we can meet and do this healing work from the privacy and comfort of your home or office. You get to cultivate a space to meet for our sessions that feels comfortable and supportive for YOU.
This greatly benefits my clients struggling with trauma. Doing this work from a comfortable place helps their nervous system self-regulate and relax.
Working online also saves time and energy. You don’t have to sit in traffic, find parking, or do any other things that come from driving to an office.
I encourage you to take 10-15 minutes before and after each session and do a relaxing ritual to prepare for the session. Instead of spending that time driving, you can spend it in a few minutes of quiet meditation or reflection, gentle stretching, or any other practice that feels supportive for you.
Is it as effective as meeting in person?
Yes, it is! I base that on my clients’ and my own experience.
Based on my clients’ testimonies, they receive various positive and lasting benefits. That is undeniable. All my clients who meet with me consistently by Zoom and practice the somatic tools in their lives report tremendous benefits.
I also meet with a practitioner online and love the experience. So, I can tell you from the heart: This works!!
Here’s what you can expect…
Each session varies, as each person’s nervous system, history, and goals differ. Keep that in mind as I describe some of the standards for you.
Our initial session will be focused on establishing your goals and desires for our journey together. It’s helpful to have an overarching direction to focus our work.
Moving forward, our sessions will include techniques to address your nervous system. (It needs to be a part of the conversation!) I am always interested to hear what you say and care about your voice, but that’s not the full extent of my job. It’s also important to slow down the story and bring your body and nervous system on board. That’s why I may pause you occasionally and ask you to “check into your body.”
We will work together to identify your activation patterns, work through old memories or present-day events troubling you, and seek out helpful resources.
We’ll do it all through the lens of listening to your body and nervous system… and we’ll do it together.
Some things to keep in mind for your online sessions…
Please ensure you have the Zoom software installed on your computer. I encourage you to test the software and work out any kinks before the session.
You’ll also want to ensure your audio connection is good. It helps to have a private, comfortable space for this (and for other obvious reasons!).
A strong, reliable Wi-Fi connection is also a must. You want to ensure you have enough bandwidth to keep your video strong throughout the call.
It can also be useful to have something to take notes with, although it’s not required.
Are you good to go??
Now that you know it works and have everything you need, think about how you’d like your life to change from doing our sessions together.
It is important to have an idea of what your healing looks and feels like!
